Criminal Record Restriction 


Record restriction is a process wherein eligible felony criminal records that appear on official criminal history reports are restricted from public view and are only accessible to law enforcement for criminal justice purposes. 


How to Apply for Record Restriction


First, obtain a certified copy of your felony case disposition.

You may request a certified copy of a felony case disposition from the Clerk of Superior Court, Criminal Department on the Ground Floor of the Courthouse, Room 210. Identification is required to obtain a certified copy of a criminal disposition. 


For arrests after July 1, 2013, you may apply with the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office. Click here for more information. 


For arrests prior to July 1, 2013, you are required to apply for restriction at the arresting agency.


Fees: 

Certified Copies of Dispositions: $2.50 for the first page and ¢.50 per additinal page.
